General Summary:
The Pipe Foreman supervises and works alongside a crew of employees and occasionally subcontractors when needed to assist in the installation of water, sewer, and storm drain. The incumbent will supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work and the review and approval of tasks. The individual will practice absolute confidentiality. Good judgment and common sense are required in all duties and any other tasks as assigned. It is not intended to be an all-inclusive job description as needs tend to change over time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complies with all safety policies, procedures and established safe practices and ensures that all employees reporting to you do the same. Reports all unsafe conditions and actions to a supervisor and/or the Manager Safety & Health.
- Trains, develops, and monitors the safety practices (including PPE) of own employees through regularly scheduled safety meetings, one on one development, reminders, and disciplinary action, if necessary
- Follows all requirements listed in the Supervisor Safety Procedure Manual (SSPM) including, but not limited to, safety training, emergency procedures, accident reporting and investigation and employee observations.
- Ensures compliance of production staff with all policies and procedures, OSHA, MSHA, and DOT guidelines.
- Reads and follows plans, material lists, and guidelines and applies necessary timelines.
- Fulfills all regular and advanced installation/construction duties including underground pipe layout and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Conduct waterline and sewer testing to ensure proper installation.
- Responsible for setting up and utilizing pipe lasers
- Organizes, supervises, leads, and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe.
- Submits crewmember’s timesheets to payroll by required deadline.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Enforces all client required safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements including crewmember discipline and documentation.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred and two (2) to five (5) years of related experience required. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
